Have you had enough yet?

When Do We Get Angry?

When is it that we get angry enough to actively go on the attack against spiritual wickedness in high places? I turn on the news and I read of child abductions, murders, shootings, rapes, young girls being kidnapped and being held hostage in holes in the ground, young people disappearing from college campuses, death on the highways, road rage, robberies, home invasions, beatings, shootings, somebody recently shoots a nun in the back and kills her, addiction, fatherless homes, crack whore moms, and that’s not even scratching the surface. Add into this the pain and suffering families associated with these things experience, and then add in human suffering from physical ailments and emotional and spiritual destructions in peoples lives. It’s dawning on me more than ever, we’re living in a world of hurt and the only people with the power to heal it, I mean the true power to heal it, are Jesus’ people.

We live in a fairly quiet community where bad stuff doesn’t appear to happen often, that is until recently. About a month ago a college age kid was shot and killed trying to break up a fight at a party. Recently, late on a Saturday night vandals threw rocks through the rear window of a car we own. I called the local police the next day and the nicest kid came by to investigate and write up a report.

He was in his mid twenties, tall, fit and carried himself very professionally. It was a pleasure to have him there and discuss things with him. He had gone to high school with my son Seth and graduated the same year. A few weeks later he was dead. On a routine domestic disturbance call something tragic happened before his back up arrived and now he’s gone and he won’t be coming back.

When I met him I almost asked him if he knew Jesus. We were standing there for a moment and only a few words separated me from asking him, all I had to do was speak. But I held back thinking maybe it wasn’t the time or place to bring it up. Now all I can do is hope he was already a brother, because that opportunity isn’t coming back to me, or to him.

All Power, What Does That Mean?

Before Jesus ascended into heaven to sit upon the throne of God, He gave important words to His friends, and by extension to us. To paraphrase His words it went something like this, “Dudes! I’ve hit the biggest jackpot ever! All of the power that has ever existed in all of heaven is now all mine. On top of that, all of the power that has ever existed in all of the earth is mine too. On top of that, hell and death and all they represent no longer have any legally enforceable power. I’ve broken the bank! I’ve won it all! And I’m sharing all of it with you, my friends! Now take this fantastic message everywhere and tell it to every creature. Everyone who believes in my incredible good fortune and signs up with me gets to share in it all as well!”

All power means ALL POWER. After ALL POWER there isn’t any more. All power is ALL POWER. Once you go past the ALL POWER mark, there isn’t any more, there’s none left. We don’t even need a to do a Greek and Hebrew word study to figure out what the word ‘all’ means (or the meaning of the word ‘is’ for that matter).

The ALL POWER announcement thing seemed to have quite an effect on Jesus friends. They believed Him. We watch things unfold in the book of Acts as they begin telling this to everyone beginning in Jerusalem, the then religious capitol of the world, and ending in Rome, the then political capitol of their world. In between they turned the world upside down as they spoke the words of Jesus absolute triumph over all that is satan and all that speaks of death.

Here is what the scriptures say about it:

“And Jesus came and spoke to them saying, ALL POWER is given to me in heaven and in earth. BECAUSE OF THIS, you go to all nations and instruct them concerning this, baptizing [immersing] them in the name [and under the power of] the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Instruct them to observe all of the things I have instructed you to do: and know this, I am going to be with you [along side of you, right next to you] at all times, all the way to the end of the world”, (Matthew 2818-20).

“And he said to them, ‘You go everywhere, into every part of the whole world, and proclaim this incredible news to every single creature. He that believes you and is baptized will be saved; but he that does not believe you will be damned. And these signs [distinguishing marks] will follow in the wake of those who believe you; In my name [as representatives under my authority and power] they will CAST OUT DEVILS; they will SPEAK WITH NEW TONGUES; they will HAVE POWER OVER SERPENTS; and if they drink any deadly thing, IT WILL NOT HURT THEM; they will LAY THEIR HANDS ON THE SICK AND THEY WILL RECOVER. So then after the Lord had spoken to them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. AND THEY WENT OUT EVERYWHERE, AND EVERYWHERE THEY WENT THEY PROCLAIMED THE MESSAGE, THE LORD WORKING WITH THEM AND CONFIRMING THE WORDS WITH SIGNS (distinguishing marks of his power) FOLLOWING”, (Mark 16:15-20).

Jesus Raises The Stakes

God sees things we don’t see. God, the Father of all creation, is indeed a Spirit, Who pervades all things in and even beyond all creation, and as such God sees things from the realm of spirit. This is the thing He has communicated to us from the beginning and now as this world, the way we presently know it, has entered the latter part of it’s existence He has sent us Jesus, His only begotten Son, to throw the cover off of reality. Jesus came revealing to us things invisible, things we cannot see with the naked eye, but He taught us that just because we can’t see these things with the naked eye it does not discount their reality, or their power.

With the appearance of Jesus the game was elevated to a new high. By His appearance, God was signifying the end of dealing with the world in the context of the natural, including natural temples, natural sacrifices, natural nations and the like. This is the very reason for so much confusion surrounding Jesus appearance. Those who were naturally minded about the Messiah King and His Kingdom were blinded by their inability to see things from the elevated plain of spirit.

Listen to Jesus in Luke 17:20, “And when the Pharisees DEMANDED that he tell them when the kingdom of God would come, he answered them and said, ‘THE KINGDOM OF GOD DOES NOT COME WITH OBSERVATION’…”

What a clarifying statement! The word observation means, “by ocular evidence”. In other words, it isn’t viewable with the natural eye. The kingdom of God is an incredible power observable and knowable only within the realm of spirit.

When Jesus was arrested, He stood before Pilate who was intent on understanding the accusations brought against Him by the Jews. One of their accusations was that Jesus was a rebel, troubling the Jewish people and causing insurrection, proclaiming Himself to be their King. This would have been significant to Pilate as he was the representative of Rome and was charged with enforcing the rule of Caesar. To supplant Caesar was a punishable offence, but listen to the exchange between Jesus and Pilate:

“Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again and called Jesus, saying to him, ‘Are you the King of the Jews?’ Jesus answered him, ‘Are you saying this out of a knowledge within your own heart, or did others tell this to you regarding me?’ Pilate answered, ‘Am I a Jew? Your own nation and chief priests have delivered you to me [for execution]: what have you done?’ Jesus answered, ‘My kingdom IS NOT OF THIS WORLD: if my kingdom WERE OF THIS WORLD then would my servants [take up arms and] fight, to keep me from being delivered to the Jews: BUT NOW IS MY KINGDOM NOT FROM HERE’…”, (John 18:33-36).

Reality Is Formed In The Spiritual Realms

The apostle Paul got it and so did the other apostles and followers of Jesus. Reality is not what is observable with the natural eye. Reality is what it is in the invisible, spiritual realm. What is true in spirit is what becomes true in earth because spiritual trumps natural. The influence of spirit forms what is observable in the natural dimension. We see this truth in the very first verses of scripture:

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. AND THE SPIRIT OF GOD MOVED UPON THE FACE OF THE WATERS. AND GOD SAID, ‘LET THERE BE LIGHT’: AND THERE WAS LIGHT” (Genesis 1:1-2).

Listen to the apostle Paul:

“For our light affliction, which lasts only in a moment, energizes on our behalf a far more excessive and eternal [spiritual/supernatural] measure of [God’s] glory. WHILE WE LOOK NOT AT THE THINGS WHICH ARE VISIBLE [observable with the natural eye], BUT AT THE THINGS WHICH ARE INVISIBLE [spiritual/supernatural]: for the things that are visible ARE TEMPORARY [in their scope and existence]; but the things that are invisible ARE ETERNAL [in their scope and existence]”, (2nd Corinthians 4:17-18).

The arguments of Paul become extremely pointed and clear in Romans 8:

“For those who are passionate for things of the natural physical dimension focus their mind on those things that are of the natural physical dimension. But those who are passionate for the things of the Spirit [of God] focus their mind on the things within and of the Spirit [of God]. To focus your mind on the natural physical dimension is death [separation from God]; but to focus your mind on things of the spiritual dimension [of God] is life and peace. This is because the focus of the mind on the natural physical dimension is directly at odds with God; for that dimension cannot receive the communications of God, and it cannot be made to do so. So, those who live life according to the natural physical dimension cannot please nor be approved of God. But your lives are not about the natural physical dimension but the Spirit if it is true that the Spirit of God resides inside of you” (Romans 8:5-9).

Through Jesus, the whole world is offered the opportunity to participate in life from the supernatural dimension of God. In this supernatural dimension, also called the kingdom of God and of heaven, the participants are no longer subject to the effects of hell (satan, the demonic and dark spirit personalities) and death (sickness, physical ailments, etc.) and what is true of things as they are right now in the supernatural dimension of heaven, become true as well for us who yet live in the Holy Spirit but still here in the realm of earth. Furthermore, as recipients of this blessing, we are privileged of God to spread the glories of this dimension everywhere we are in earth. If we exercise ourselves to do so, we see as the Spirit sees, we know as the Spirit knows, we act as the Spirit acts, we speak as the Spirit speaks. We become dead to living life in the mundane of this world and become alive to living life from the heightened world of Jesus.

“If you have been raised up with Christ, then seek earnestly those things that are from above, literally from where Christ is seated right now on the right hand of God. Focus the passions of your mind on the things that are of that realm, not on things on the earth. FOR YOU ARE DEAD [to them], AND YOUR LIFE IS HID AND BURIED DEEPLY WITH CHRIST IN GOD” (Colossians 3:1-3).

God Is White Hot With Anger Against Evil

The destruction of a man, woman or child in the present and his soul for all eternity is satan’s highest insult to God. And I might add, how much more the destruction of God’s servants who have ventured their lives to God’s service. Man is the enemy of satan on earth because a man under the authority of Jesus Christ has the power to wage war against the darkness of this world and to destroy its hold as well as its effects.

The evils we see perpetuated on this earth are results of spiritual wickedness. It is men, women and children who are the effected ones. The wrath of God is not against the victims of satan, but against the evil behind what we see that is the energizing force behind the destructions.

The destruction of a man in the present is designed to:

1. Get him to blame God for His misery
2. Get him to abandon God
3. Count God’s voice to be unreliable
4. Keep man from knowing the fullness of God’s love for him
5. Get him to seek bad answers for life from within another source
  • Himself – “his own way”
  • Others – philosophies, opinions of men
  • Spiritualism
  • The World System – the glittery world of man who’s head is satan
  • Idols – influence of demonic spirits, false religions
  • Satan

The destruction of a man’s soul for all eternity is designed to:

  1. Bring sorrow to God for the man’s present and future misery
  2. Keep the man from experiencing the glories of the heavenly kingdom now and in the future, which would bring to both the man and God unspeakable joy
  3. To keep the man from following the voice of the Holy Spirit and become one who in turn is a destroyer of darkness in the lives of others

When Do We Say Enough Is Enough?

Destruction and misery upon man and the beauty of God’s created things is blatant all around us. As it goes unchecked its boldness increases and so do its effects. When do we get as angry against the evil as God is and go to war against spiritual wickedness in the supernatural dimensions? When does our blood boil with white hot against the invisible powers that destroy those around us? One of the reasons Jesus sent the power of the Holy Spirit upon us is to bring judgment on the evil prince of this world:

“It is absolutely necessary four you that I go away: for if I don’t go away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I leave, I will send him to you. And when he (the Holy Spirit) is come, he will reprove the world of…judgment. Of judgment, BECAUSE THE PRINCE OF THIS WORLD IS JUDGED” (John 16:7-11).

There Is The Cry Out To The Warriors

There is the cry of war the Holy Spirit was sent to bring to us when He came. We have no quarrels against flesh and blood men and women. God loves every one of them. But as the people of God we are men and women of the Spirit who clearly have issues with the dark spirits that bind and destroy the people. And Christ has saved us and equipped us to act as His ambassadors and warriors against the evil in the spiritual dimension. Listen to Paul:

“Unto me, who is less than the very least of all saints is this grace given, that I should proclaim among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; and to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world has been hidden in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: TO THE INTENT THAT NOW UNTO THE PRINCIPALITIES AND POWERS IN HEAVENLY [spiritual/supernatural] PLACES MIGHT BE KNOWN [revealed and made manifest] BY THE CHURCH THE MANIFOLD WISDOM OF GOD, ACCORDING TO THE ETERNAL PURPOSE WHICH HE PURPOSED IN CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD” (Ephesians 3:8-11).

“Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to STAND AGAINST the wiles of the devil. FOR WE DO NOT WRESTLE AGAINST FLESH AND BLOOD, BUT AGAINST PRINCIPALITIES, AGAINST POWERS, AGAINST THE RULERS OF THE DARKNESS OF THIS WORLD, AGAINST SPIRITUAL WICKEDNESS IN HIGH [spiritual/supernatural] PLACES” (Ephesians 6:11-12).

Volunteers Required

It’s a call. It’s an invitation to whoever can hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches. There is work to be done. There are bodies to be healed, bondages to be broken and eternal souls to be brought into relationship with God. The Spirit is on the move and warriors are being called into the battle of the ages.

I already know, those who love comfort won’t respond. But those who do come will see some of the most incredible things the people of God have ever known. This is all real, and the Holy Ghost is calling. Those who focus their minds on the perpetual flow of the things of the Spirit will see Jesus confirming the words they speak about HIS TOTAL TRIUMPH OVER HELL AND DEATH AND HIS ABSOLUTE, ALL POWER IN HEAVEN AND IN EARTH CONFIRMED BY AMAZING DEMONSTRATIONS OF THE GLORIES OF HEAVEN IMPACTING THE THINGS IN EARTH.

“And as you go, preach [speak, proclaim] saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand’. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely you have received, freely give”, (Matthew 10:7-8)
